Los Angeles is the most important city in California. There are 18 million people living in its metropolitan area. It is an impressive city as it enjoys a coastal area with incredible beaches, a mountainous area and skyscrapers and beautiful buildings. It is also prone to earthquakes as it is located in the Pacific Belt of Fire above the San Andreas Fault, although most of them are not dangerous. It consists of several neighborhoods that were originally independent cities that Los Angeles was annexing because its proposition to them about the distribution of water if they were annexed.
